Our CEO Dr. Florian Pfeiffer was invited at the Material Meets Engineering Event from LyondellBasell to give a presentation on the penetration of electromagnetic waves through automotive radar covers (= radomes). The presentation can be downloaded here.
Today, automotive radar sensors are mostly installed behind plastic covers. To design these radar-transparent covers, it is necessary to know the radar properties of the materials. This requires a measurement of the dielectric properties at the radar frequency. At the exhibition, visitors were able to see how easy it is to carry out such measurements with our RMS-D system.
